Coffee Roaster FAQs

Do I need GPS coordinates for every single coffee farm?

Yes. EUDR requires farm-level GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude with 6+ decimal places) for all coffee imports. If you source from a cooperative with 100 smallholder farmers, you need GPS for all 100 farms.

Does Fair Trade certification cover EUDR requirements?

No. Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, and Organic certifications are NOT sufficient for EUDR compliance. You still need GPS coordinates, harvest dates, and a Due Diligence Statement for every shipment.

How do I track coffee blends with multiple origins?

You need to maintain traceability for each origin in the blend. EUDR Simple calculates weighted risk scores based on each origin's percentage and generates a single DDS covering all origins.

What's the risk level for coffee under EUDR?

Coffee has a base risk score of 8/20 (medium risk). However, specific origins vary—Colombian coffee from high-altitude regions may be lower risk, while Vietnamese coffee from recently deforested areas is higher risk.

Can cooperative managers enter data directly?

Yes! EUDR Simple provides a supplier portal. You send a secure link to your cooperative manager, and they upload GPS coordinates, harvest dates, and certifications directly into your account.
